Candidates must have strong visual design skills, including page layout, graphics and photo selection. TEAM EDITOR -- The Register-Guard, a 70,000-circulation a.m. daily in Eugene, OR, is seeking a full-time Team Editor to lead a team of local news reporters covering the justice system, public safety, education and other beats. The successful applicant will serve as a key member of the newsroom management team, helping to plan and execute local coverage for Page One and the City/Region section. The successful applicant will have the drive and experience to lead the team in generating spot news and enterprise work for the print product, as well as daily content for the newspaper's Web site, including video. Online skills, including video, multi-media, mobile-journalism, blogs and Web updating, will be an asset. The successful applicant will work well in a collaborative environment, and will have strong communication skills, seasoned news judgment, a background in hard-news coverage, and excellent editing and coaching abilities. Applicants must have a minimum of a four-year college degree with at least four years of daily newspaper experience. Salary is commensurate with experience.
